Deliciously crispy fried onions made in the air fryer, perfect for topping dishes or enjoying as a snack.
Ingredients

- 2 large onions
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil spray
Instructions
- Slice the onions into thin rings and soak them in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix the flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Drain the onions and coat them thoroughly in the flour mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the coated onions in the air fryer basket in a single layer, and spray lightly with oil.
- Air fry for about 10-15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Serve hot.
