Description
Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside air fryer potato slices made with minimal oil. A healthier alternative to deep-fried potatoes that doesn’t sacrifice flavor or texture.
Ingredients
2 lbs Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
1. Peel potatoes and slice into ¼ inch thick slices using a mandolin or sharp knife.
2. Soak potato slices in cold water for 15-30 minutes.
3. Drain and dry thoroughly with paper towels.
4. Toss dried slices with olive oil and all seasonings until evenly coated.
5. Place half the slices in air fryer basket in a single layer.
6. Air fry at 380°F for 12-15 minutes, shaking basket every 5 minutes.
7. Remove first batch and keep warm while cooking second batch.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with extra salt or fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Soaking removes excess starch for maximum crispiness.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket – work in batches for best results.
Every air fryer is different, so start checking at 10 minutes.
For extra crispy results, change the soaking water once to remove more starch.
