  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle half over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the topping mixture on top.
  9. Swirl through the batter with a knife for a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  12. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, and drizzle over the cooled bread.

Notes

Use fresh apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor. Adjust glaze consistency to your preference.
