Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the mushrooms, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the beef broth and milk.
- Spread the beef mixture in a greased baking dish and pour the broth and milk mixture over it.
- Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture.
- If using, sprinkle cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, let the dish rest after baking for easier serving. Feel free to experiment with additional vegetables or cheeses.
