- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 finely diced onion
- 1–2 cloves minced garlic
- ¼ cup BBQ sauce for mixing, plus extra for topping
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, milk, and ¼ cup of BBQ sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
- Spread a generous layer of the remaining BBQ sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 40-60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70-71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Consider adding chopped fresh herbs for extra flavor or swap the cheddar cheese for other types for a twist.
