- 1/3 cup (80 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) maple syrup powder
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) minced fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cornstarch
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 pound (450 g) beef skirt steak, thinly sliced on the diagonal
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
- 2 (14.5 ounce (411 g)) packages frozen stir-fry vegetables
Instructions
- – In a small bowl, combine the vegetable broth, soy sauce, maple syrup powder, minced ginger, sesame oil, cornstarch, minced garlic, and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- – Warm the vegetable oil in a wok until it starts to shimmer. Introduce the skirt steak, seasoning it with salt, and cook until it’s browned, roughly 5 minutes.
- – Incorporate the frozen stir-fry vegetables into the wok. Pour the prepared sauce over everything. Continue cooking until the vegetables are thoroughly warmed, approximately 5 minutes.
Notes
- Try using low-sodium soy sauce and reduce salt for a healthier dish.
- Thinly slice beef skirt steak on the diagonal for even cooking.
- Customize stir-fry veggies with bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas. Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spiciness.
