Description

A vibrant and refreshing drink blending hibiscus tea, strawberries, and lemon for a delightful summer experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags (or 2 tablespoons of dried hibiscus flowers)
  • 1/2 cup of strawberries, washed and sliced
  • 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 23 tablespoons of maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Optional toppings: extra sliced strawberries, lemon slices, and/or fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a tea kettle. Once it reaches a rolling boil, remove it from the heat and add the hibiscus tea bags or dried flowers.
  2. Steep the tea for 5-7 minutes, then remove the tea bags or strain the flowers and allow the tea to cool completely.
  3. Add the washed and sliced strawberries to a blender along with 1/4 cup of the cooled hibiscus tea. Blend until smooth.
  4. Combine the remaining cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and maple syrup in a large pitcher. Stir to blend.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more maple syrup or lemon juice as needed.
  6. Pour over ice and garnish with extra lemon slices, fresh strawberries, and mint if desired.
