Description
Juicy venison sliders topped with melted cheddar cheese, creamy mayonnaise, and nestled in soft Hawaiian rolls, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 pounds ground venison
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 24 Hawaiian rolls
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Using 1 tablespoon of melted butter, grease the bottom of a rimmed baking sheet.
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil, then incorporate the ground venison and diced onion. Break up the venison using a wooden spoon or spatula.
- Season the mixture with kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Sauté the combination for about five minutes, or until the venison changes from red to a brown color.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a large mixing bowl and fold in the mayonnaise for added creaminess.
- Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half. Lay the bottom halves on the buttered baking sheet and cover them with the eight slices of cheddar cheese.
- Spread the cooked venison mixture evenly over the cheese, ensuring the mixture reaches the edges.
- Top the venison mixture with the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Place the tops of the buns, cut-side down, over the assembled burgers.
- Brush the tops with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the bun tops are golden brown.
Notes
For extra tenderness, mix in a small amount of fat like ground beef. Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
