Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.

- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each one blends well before adding the next.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the flour. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
