- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
- In a large saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs with pasta or in a sub sandwich.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh herbs. Allow the mixture to rest before forming meatballs to improve binding.
