- 1 sheet of puff pastry (from a 17.3-ounce/490g package), thawed but kept cold
- 1 (8-ounce/227g) wheel or wedge of chilled brie cheese, cut into 24 cubes
- ½ cup of whole berry cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 large egg (for egg wash) combined with 1 tablespoon of water
- Optional: ¼ cup of chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
- Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs, honey, or flaky sea salt for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangle about 10×15 inches and cut into 24 equal squares.
- Gently press each square into the cups of a mini muffin tin.
- Place a cube of brie in the center of each pastry cup and top with ½ to 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
- If desired, add toasted nuts on top.
- Whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash and brush the edges of the pastry.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving, garnishing as desired.
Notes
Keep the brie cold before assembly for better handling. Serve warm for the best experience.
