Description
A deliciously rich caramel cake layered with chocolate ganache and whipped cream, perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel chocolate ganache
- 1 cup caramel whipped cream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the brown sugar and vegetable oil until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until fully combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with caramel chocolate ganache in between. Frost the top and sides with caramel whipped cream frosting.
- Decorate as desired and serve.
Notes
For a delightful contrast, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the ganache.
