- 4 boneless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s vegetable oil
- 2 cup (480 ml) s chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame oil
- 2 cup (480 ml) s cooked white rice
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, and rice vinegar to prepare the marinade.
- Place the chicken thighs in the marinade and let them soak for a minimum of 20 minutes.
- Warm up vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken thighs on both sides until they are caramelized and fully cooked. Take them out and keep them aside.
- Using the same skillet, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook them for 1-2 minutes until their aroma is released.
- Add chicken broth and sesame oil into the pan. Allow it to come to a gentle boil and reduce slightly.
- Cut the cooked chicken into slices and return them to the broth to heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Present the chicken and broth atop bowls of cooked white rice.
- Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.
