  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Add thinly sliced onions and a pinch of salt, cooking for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low, add brown sugar if using, and continue cooking for 35-50 minutes until deeply caramelized.
