Description

Delightful cheddar and ham stuffed Christmas trees made with puff pastry, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup finely diced cooked ham
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a flavor kick)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface for easy handling.
  3. If using Dijon mustard for added flavor, spread a thin layer over one pastry sheet.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and diced cooked ham over the mustard layer, pressing lightly into the dough.
  5. Gently place the second pastry sheet on top, pressing to seal the edges.
  6. Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes. Re-roll the scraps and repeat until you’ve used all the pastry.
  7. Place your tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with the beaten egg, ensuring they achieve a golden hue as they bake.
  9. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  10. Remove them from the oven and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder. Finish with a sprinkle of dried parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add herbs for extra flavor.
