Description
Delightful cheddar and ham stuffed Christmas trees made with puff pastry, perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup finely diced cooked ham
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a flavor kick)
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface for easy handling.
- If using Dijon mustard for added flavor, spread a thin layer over one pastry sheet.
- Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and diced cooked ham over the mustard layer, pressing lightly into the dough.
- Gently place the second pastry sheet on top, pressing to seal the edges.
- Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes. Re-roll the scraps and repeat until you’ve used all the pastry.
- Place your tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg, ensuring they achieve a golden hue as they bake.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Remove them from the oven and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder. Finish with a sprinkle of dried parsley before serving.
