Description

A delightful and cozy beverage that combines the aromatic flavors of Earl Grey tea with the sweetness of fresh cherries and creamy milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose leaf Earl Grey tea)
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup milk (any type: dairy, almond, oat, etc.)
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 12 teaspoons vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Ice (optional for iced version)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, add the fresh cherries and about 2 tablespoons of water.
  2. Simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes until the cherries soften and release their juices. Gently mash the cherries.
  3. While the cherries are simmering, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes, then remove the tea bag or strain the leaves.
  4. Pour the milk into the saucepan with the softened cherries and heat gently, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  5. Add the optional cinnamon stick if using.
  6. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of vanilla syrup into the milk and cherry mixture.
  7. Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into a mug, then strain the warm milk and cherry mixture into the same mug.
  8. If serving iced, allow the mixture to cool slightly and pour it over ice.
  9. Garnish with a fresh cherry or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness with more or less vanilla syrup based on your preference and experiment with different types of milk.
