Description

A unique twist on classic chili, combining the richness of peanut butter and chocolate for a comforting, flavorful dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 ounces chocolate (dark or milk), chopped
  • Toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
  3. Stir in the kidney beans, black beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in the peanut butter and chopped chocolate until melted and fully combined.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Serve hot with your desired toppings.

Notes

Let the chili cool completely before storing in airtight containers to retain flavor. For varying spice levels, adjust with extra chili powder or cayenne.
