Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, oil, egg, and buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
- Add the flour and mix gently until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
- Fold in the chopped apples, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the topping until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping mixture over the cake batter.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
