- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the bread is baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar topping.
- Once the bread is done, let it cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
- Roll the warm loaf in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
For added complexity, consider adding chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter.
