  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the bread is baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar topping.
  8. Once the bread is done, let it cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  9. Roll the warm loaf in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
