Description

A delightful dessert that transforms traditional cannoli into an easy-to-make square format, filled with creamy ricotta and baked in a crescent roll crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased baking dish to form a crust.
  3. Bake the crust for about 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon if using, until smooth.
  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips and chopped pistachios.
  6. Spread the ricotta mixture over the baked crust evenly.
  7. Refrigerate for at least one hour to set.
  8. Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Experiment with adding flavors like orange zest or almond extract for a unique twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
