Description
A comforting dish of pasta coated in a rich, garlicky cream sauce with tender slices of steak, perfect for special occasions or cozy dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless ribeye or sirloin steaks, about 6 oz each
- 12 oz dry pasta (fettuccine or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup beef broth (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh chopped parsley or basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil pasta in a large pot of salted water until al dente; drain, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
- Season the steaks with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook steak for about 4–5 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms. Let steaks rest before slicing thinly.
- In the same skillet, melt unsalted butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. If using, add beef broth and reduce for a couple of minutes.
- Pour in heavy cream and mix with garlic, then add grated Parmesan and stir until smooth. Adjust seasoning and add crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Toss cooked pasta into the sauce, using reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency. Fold in sliced steak.
- Plate the pasta, top with steak, and garnish with fresh herbs and extra Parmesan.
