Description

A comforting dish of layered potatoes enveloped in a rich cream sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Add the remaining potatoes and top with the remaining cream mixture.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and dot with butter.
  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the potato edges are crispy and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Experiment with different cheeses or add fresh herbs for added flavor.
