- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese.
- Add the remaining potatoes and top with the remaining cream mixture.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and dot with butter.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the potato edges are crispy and the top is golden brown.
- Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Experiment with different cheeses or add fresh herbs for added flavor.
