- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Spray both sides of the breaded chicken with olive oil spray.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C).
- Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken and top with mozzarella cheese in the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
- Close the air fryer and cook until cheese is melted.
- Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.
Notes
Marinating the chicken in Italian dressing before preparation can enhance flavor. Using different types of breadcrumbs can add extra crunch.
