Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Spray both sides of the breaded chicken with olive oil spray.
  5. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C).
  7. Spoon marinara sauce over the chicken and top with mozzarella cheese in the last 2-3 minutes of cooking.
  8. Close the air fryer and cook until cheese is melted.
  9. Serve hot with pasta or a side salad.

Notes

Marinating the chicken in Italian dressing before preparation can enhance flavor. Using different types of breadcrumbs can add extra crunch.
