A comforting and hearty meal of tender beef tips slow-cooked in rich gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat (such as chuck roast or round steak)
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil (for browning the meat)
  • Optional: chopped onions and mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Trim any excess fat from the beef stew meat.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the beef stew meat on all sides.
  3. Transfer the browned beef into the crock pot.
  4. Sprinkle the brown gravy mix and onion soup mix over the beef.
  5. Add the cup of water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. If desired, add chopped onions and mushrooms to the pot.
  7. Stir everything together until well combined.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the beef is tender.
  9. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

Feel free to customize with root vegetables or spices for extra flavor. Leftovers taste even better the next day.
