- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cheese for topping
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a crockpot.
- Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve warm, topped with cheese.
Notes
Experiment with adding bell peppers or corn for extra texture and flavor. Adjust spices to suit your taste.
