- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- French rolls or baguettes
- Sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese
- Au jus for dipping
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Top with sliced onion and minced garlic.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over the beef.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Shred the beef with two forks and return to the crockpot, stirring to coat with the juices.
- Toast the French rolls and fill them with the shredded beef and a slice of cheese.
- Serve with a side of warm au jus for dipping.
