Description
Tender venison cubes marinated in zesty Italian dressing, wrapped in bacon with jalapeño, and grilled to perfection for a mouthwatering wild game appetizer.
Ingredients
1 pound venison steaks, cubed into 1-inch pieces
½ teaspoon Greek seasoning
¼ teaspoon steak seasoning
1 (16 ounce) bottle Italian salad dressing
½ cup jalapeño pepper slices
10 slices bacon, cut in half
Toothpicks, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions
1. Season venison cubes with Greek and steak seasoning, then marinate in Italian dressing for 2-24 hours.
2. Preheat grill to medium heat (350-375°F).
3. Drain marinade and pat meat dry with paper towels.
4. Place jalapeño slice on each venison cube, wrap with half bacon slice, secure with soaked toothpick.
5. Grill for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until bacon is crispy and venison reaches 135-145°F.
6. Rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
7. Drizzle with fresh Italian dressing and garnish with herbs if desired.
Notes
Marinate overnight for best flavor and tenderness.
Can be baked at 375°F if grilling isn’t available.
Use standard-cut bacon rather than thin-sliced.
Keep toothpicks soaked to prevent burning.
Don’t overcrowd the grill to ensure proper browning.
