  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ginger, sliced (15 grams)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (15 ml)
  • 1 cup beef broth (240 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch (16 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons water (30 ml)
  • Salt to taste
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean the chicken feet thoroughly and trim any nails.
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the chicken feet.
  3. Boil the chicken feet for 5 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water.
  4. In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the ginger and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  6. Add the chicken feet to the pan and stir well.
  7. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and dark soy sauce.
  8. Add the sugar, star anise, and cinnamon stick.
  9. Stir to coat the chicken feet evenly with the sauce.
  10. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  11. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.
  12. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
  13. After 1 hour, add the cornstarch slurry to the pan.
  14. Stir well and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  15. Season with salt to taste.
  16. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
  17. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
