Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat (trimmed of large fat pieces)
- 1 package brown gravy (e.g., McCormick’s)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 can beef broth
- 8 oz baby portabella mushrooms (optional)
Instructions
- Optional: Brown the cubed beef stew meat in a skillet for extra flavor, then skip this step if pressed for time.
- In a medium bowl, combine the brown gravy, cream of mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and beef broth. Stir until well mixed.
- Pour the mixture into the slow cooker.
- Add the cubed beef into the slow cooker with the liquid mixture. Stir until the beef is well coated.
- Cook on high for 3 1/2 hours or on low for 7 hours, until the meat is tender and falls apart easily.
Notes
For optimal flavor, ensure the beef is well-coated with the sauce. Avoid lifting the lid of the slow cooker to maintain the cooking temperature.
