- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Wash and scrub the potatoes under running water. Pat them dry.
- Prick each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle salt and pepper over them.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Serve with your choice of toppings.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider using garlic-infused olive oil or adding garlic powder with the salt and pepper.
