Description
A comforting and hearty Salisbury steak dish featuring seasoned beef patties topped with rich mushroom gravy.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1/4 cup water (optional, if using cornstarch)
Instructions
- Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and form into oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and sauté until golden brown.
- Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
- Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with water and add to the skillet to thicken the gravy.
- Serve the Salisbury steaks with mushroom gravy poured over the top.
Notes
For a thicker gravy, gradually add the cornstarch slurry and adjust to your preference. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days.
