Whenever you follow any recipe, you should make sure that you keep these food safety guidelines in mind.
Wash hands with soap and water before you begin the recipe and after every instance of touching raw meats, poultry, seafood or eggs.
Cook until internal temperature reaches the temperature called for in the recipe by using the appropriate food thermometer.
Do not reuse marinades used on raw foods.
Do not rinse raw poultry or meat.
Wash cutting board, counter, utensils and serving plates after they have been used for raw meats, poultry, seafood or eggs.
Gently rub produce under cold running water.
Scrub firm produce with a clean vegetable brush under running water.
