Description

Delightful fried sandwiches filled with a creamy cheesecake mixture and fresh strawberries, capturing the essence of summer in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Optional: more powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese on one slice, then place the other slice on top to form a sandwich.
  4. Dredge the sandwich in flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the sandwich for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  8. Optional: dust with powdered sugar before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

For added crunch, consider double-dipping the sandwiches in the egg and breadcrumbs. A dash of cinnamon in the breadcrumb coating can add a unique flavor.
