  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
  • 4 slices bread
  • 3 cup (720 ml) s grated cheese (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Gruyere)

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and add minced garlic and oregano. Let it sit for a while.
  2. Shred the cheese varieties and blend them together. Cut the bread into thick pieces.
  3. Place the cheese mixture on half of the bread slices, then cover with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  4. Generously coat the exterior of the bread with the garlic-infused oil.
  5. In a large skillet or griddle over medium heat, place the sandwiches with the oiled side facing down. Cover the pan to speed up the cheese melting process. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on one side.
  6. Apply the rest of the garlic oil to the other side, then carefully turn the sandwiches over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Take the sandwiches out of the pan, let them rest for a minute, then cut and serve.
