- 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) dried oregano
- 4 slices bread
- 3 cup (720 ml) s grated cheese (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Gruyere)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and add minced garlic and oregano. Let it sit for a while.
- Shred the cheese varieties and blend them together. Cut the bread into thick pieces.
- Place the cheese mixture on half of the bread slices, then cover with the remaining slices to form sandwiches.
- Generously coat the exterior of the bread with the garlic-infused oil.
- In a large skillet or griddle over medium heat, place the sandwiches with the oiled side facing down. Cover the pan to speed up the cheese melting process. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on one side.
- Apply the rest of the garlic oil to the other side, then carefully turn the sandwiches over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Take the sandwiches out of the pan, let them rest for a minute, then cut and serve.
