- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until golden and thoroughly cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add 1/4 cup water and broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 2-3 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Melt butter in the pan and stir in garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Add soy sauce and lemon juice, along with red pepper flakes if desired. Stir to combine.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Gently fold in steamed broccoli until well-coated with sauce.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley if using. Serve warm.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in soy sauce and lemon juice for 30 minutes before cooking.
