Description

A comforting and creamy beef stroganoff made with tender beef sirloin, sautéed mushrooms, and a rich sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add onions and cook until transparent. Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms are tender.
  3. Stir in beef broth, bring to a simmer, and let it reduce slightly.
  4. Lower the heat, stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard, mixing well.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, cooking until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the beef strips before cooking. Fresh mushrooms enhance the dish’s taste, and feel free to add Worcestershire sauce for an umami kick.
