- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and 1/4 cup ketchup. Spread this mixture on top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating fresh herbs or Worcestershire sauce. Allow the meatloaf to rest for better slicing.
