A comforting classic featuring ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a touch of nostalgia, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, 1/4 cup ketchup, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and 1/4 cup ketchup. Spread this mixture on top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating fresh herbs or Worcestershire sauce. Allow the meatloaf to rest for better slicing.
