  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s butter
  • 2 cup (480 ml) s chicken broth
  • 1/41/3 cup (80 ml) fresh squeezed lemon juice – to taste
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) finely chopped fresh herbs – optional (dill is my favorite!)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan on medium-high flame, allow the butter to liquefy.
  2. Add the washed rice and mix for 60 seconds, then incorporate the turmeric.
  3. Pour in the broth, lemon juice, and salt, and let it reach a boil.
  4. Lower the heat to maintain a vigorous simmer, cover the pan, and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally during this period.
  5. Use a fork to separate the grains, add the fresh herbs if you like, and serve the dish.
