- 1 lb ground turkey
- ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup red onion, chopped
- ¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried dill
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 Persian cucumbers, grated
- 1 Tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- Cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, panko breadcrumbs, red onion, feta cheese, garlic, egg, oregano, dill, cumin, salt, and black pepper until uniform.
- Shape mixture into meatballs and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- In another bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt to prepare tzatziki sauce.
- Chill tzatziki in the refrigerator until meatballs are done.
- Serve meatballs drizzled with tzatziki sauce and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
For a flavorful twist, consider using fresh herbs when available. Ensure not to overmix the meatball mixture to retain the right texture.
