Description

A healthy twist on pizza featuring layers of zucchini, ground meat, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium zucchinis, sliced
  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Optional toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the ground meat. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Layer half of the sliced zucchini in a baking dish, followed by half of the cooked ground meat. Pour half of the marinara sauce over this layer and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your guilt-free pizza experience!

Notes

For best results, salt the sliced zucchini and let it sit for 15 minutes to prevent a watery casserole.
