  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, dried parsley, Italian seasoning, paprika, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, Kosher salt, diced onion, minced garlic, bread crumbs, milk, and beaten eggs. Mix until combined.
  3. Gently fold in shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place on a prepared baking sheet.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, sweet chili sauce, and mustard for the glaze.
  6. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Let the meatloaf mixture sit for a few minutes after combining for a juicier result. Experiment with spices and add ingredients like bell peppers or mushrooms for variation.
