Description

A comforting and nostalgic casserole made with ground beef, sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup, and topped with melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until fully cooked.
  3. In a casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the cooked beef and onion mixture.
  4. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer and then add the remaining potatoes on top.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Allow the casserole to rest after baking to help set the layers. Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
