- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 onion, diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until fully cooked.
- In a casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the cooked beef and onion mixture.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer and then add the remaining potatoes on top.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Allow the casserole to rest after baking to help set the layers. Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
