- 1/2 cup (120 ml) (120 milliliters) coconut cream
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) (60 milliliters) pure apple juice
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) (75 grams) dried cranberries
- 8 ounces (227 g) (225 grams) turkey bacon
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams) onion powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Fill each jalapeño half with a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture.
- In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy, then chop into small pieces.
- In a separate bowl, combine ground venison, chopped turkey bacon, and dried cranberries.
- Mix the venison mixture thoroughly and season with salt and black pepper.
- Stuff the jalapeño halves with the venison mixture, pressing firmly to ensure it stays in place.
- Arrange the stuffed jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and maple syrup.
- Heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Drizzle the maple cream over the stuffed jalapeños.
- Bake the jalapeños in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the venison is cooked through and the peppers are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter option, consider using ground turkey instead of ground beef for a healthier twist.
- Substitute the turkey bacon with regular bacon or prosciutto for a different flavor profile.
- Try adding chopped pecans or walnuts to the venison mixture for added crunch and texture.
