Description

A nostalgic and comforting homestyle meatloaf topped with a classic glaze, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Blend until just incorporated; do not overwork the mixture.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased loaf pan or shape into a loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press gently to form an even thickness.
  4. In a small bowl, blend ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  5. Spread the glaze evenly over the top surface of the formed loaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 75 minutes, until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Remove from the oven and allow resting for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, try incorporating fresh herbs or swapping breadcrumbs for crushed cereal or oats.
