Description
Delicious honey garlic chicken breasts with a sweet and savory glaze, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup honey
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
- Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season each piece with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, then coat evenly with flour.
- Cook the floured chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the soy sauce and seasoned rice vinegar, scraping the bits from the pan. Stir in the honey, and season to taste with additional pepper and salt. Allow to simmer for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
- Return the chicken to the pan, allowing it to simmer in the sauce for 1 additional minute until warmed through.
- Serve the honey garlic chicken garnished with thinly sliced green onions.
Notes
For extra spice, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
