Description

A sweet and savory Honey Glazed Ham, perfect for holiday celebrations, infused with orange and warm spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in spiral ham (8 lbs)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Bayou City Lemon Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Layer sliced oranges in a shallow roasting pan and pour orange juice over them.
  3. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, orange marmalade, and salt over medium heat. Stir until smooth and let bubble for about 4 minutes.
  4. Pour half of the glaze over the ham and place it in the oven uncovered for 50 minutes.
  5. After 50 minutes, pour the remaining glaze over the ham and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
  6. Remove from the oven, tent with foil, and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving.
  7. Serve with the remaining glaze on the side.

Notes

For a thicker glaze, simmer it longer. You can also add zest from the orange for extra flavor.
