- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approximately 2 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2โ3 tablespoons hot sauce
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and paprika.
- Optional: Marinate chicken for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
- Prepare hot honey feta sauce by combining honey and hot sauce in a saucepan.
- Add half the feta cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil to the sauce.
- Sear chicken in an oven-safe skillet for 3-4 minutes per side.
- Pour sauce over chicken and bake at 375ยฐF for 15-18 minutes.
- Top with remaining feta during last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Ensure chicken is at even thickness for consistent cooking
- Donโt skip patting the chicken dry for better browning
- Watch the honey carefully as it can burn quickly
- Reserve some sauce for serving
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165ยฐF
- Allow chicken to rest before cutting
