- 2 1/2 lb (1.13 kg) s. organic chicken wings, disjointed
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) s lemon pepper seasoning, homemade or store-bought
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) cornstarch (You can also use 2 Tbsp (30 ml) s of cornstarch + 2 Tbsp (30 ml) s flour for the best results)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) smoked paprika
- 1 cup (240 ml) peach preserves/jam, organic
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) hot honey, homemade or store-bought (See Post for Homemade version)
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) s salted butter (You can also use unsalted butter + add 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) of salt to sauce)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) red pepper flakes, optional
- 2–4 Tbsp (45 ml) s organic chicken stock
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine your washed and rinsed chicken wings with the lemon pepper seasoning, smoked paprika, and cornstarch, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes. For optimal flavor, marinate the chicken in the refrigerator overnight or up to two days.
- Set your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper or non-stick foil, placing a wire rack on top if you have one to achieve the crispiest wings. Ensure the wire rack is well-greased to prevent sticking.
- Arrange the chicken wings on the baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each one. Continue until all wings are placed. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until they achieve a crispy, golden finish.
- In a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute. Stir in the hot honey, peach preserves, chicken stock, and red pepper flakes if desired, whisking until it reaches a boil. Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes until it becomes sticky.
- Once the wings are crispy, take them out of the oven and coat them in the sauce, tossing until they are fully covered.
- Serve the wings right away with your favorite side dish, such as fries, garlic bread, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, rice, or a salad.
