Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
  • Lemon zest (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine sugar and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest, then mix until smooth.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth for the glaze. Pour over cooled brownies and let set.
  9. Garnish with additional lemon zest before cutting into squares if desired.
