  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard (15 milliliters)
  • 2 slices of beef bacon
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) panko breadcrumbs (30 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil (14 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  3. Place the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Toss the Brussels sprouts to coat them evenly.
  7. Spread them out in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  8. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and golden.
  9. Meanwhile, cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  10. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it cool on a paper towel.
  11. Crumble the cooled bacon into small pieces.
  12. In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  13. Add 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs to the skillet.
  14. Stir continuously until the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  15. Remove from heat and mix in the crumbled bacon.
  16. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
  17. Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, transfer them to a large bowl.
